Classic meets Jazz: BLUE OPERA

Classic meets Jazz: Blue Opera
A virtuoso expedition through the history of the opera on two grand pianos.

Opera concerts evenings often took place, but never in connection with jazz: Blue Opera is an extraordinary and fantastic adventure.

Jasmin and Gottfried Böttger give a virtuoso performance with fireworks of keystrokes on two grand pianos. The most beautiful melodies of the opera melt together with exciting rhythms of jazz to form an amazing work of art.

In the beginning you hear well known overtures, arias and opera choruses of Mozart, Verdi and Wagner but in the middle of the classic romantic sound the Boogie Woogie or the Blues trembles and sighs.

On this evening you find nearly everything that plays a part in the opera scene:

Bizet’s Carmen doesn’t give a damn about faithfulness in a swinging way. Mozart’s Papageno catches his birds in a different way with a new technique while playing the piccolo and Rossini’s Barbier does the hair of the “High Society” very virtuously.

The irresistible flirt of Mozart’s Don Giovanni releases fresh energy and Wagner’s Fliegender Holländer haunts ghostly grumbling. Alone in the wood but extraordinarily accompanied by Humperdinck’s fairytale opera Hänsel und Gretel asks for the blessing of the evening.

The Freischütz bridesmaids of Weber still makes up the wreath and Verdi’s Traviata sings with her lover Alfred her euphorical drinking song within improvised vacuums.

The great emotions of opera combined with unbounded liberty of jazz makes this evening a wonderful concert event: Blue Opera
Classic meets Jazz with Jasmin and Gottfried Böttger.

An evening for those who love opera and jazz but also for those who want to develop a passion for jazz.  Blue Opera – the continuation of the successful programs Blue Mozart and Blue Beethoven.
