Classic meets Jazz: Blue Mozart & Blue Beethoven
|
Classic meets Jazz: „Blue Beethoven“ A more unusual concert is scarcely possible: concert-pianist Jasmin Böttger plays works from four centuries, explaining in a charming and humorous fashion the events surrounding the creation of the individual compositions. Pianist Gottfried Böttger takes the public on short but virtuosic journey through the history of jazz. In 4-hands ensemble playing, these two gifted musicians let classical and jazz music collide. Selected jazz pieces are ingeniously and impressively combined with Beethoven on one piano, forming a symbiosis that captivates the listener. A furious keyboard firework-display spanning from Vienna to New Orleans – with the duo setting a triple-programme of styles. Jasmin Böttger completed her classical piano studies in Hamburg and Florence and gave her solo debut in Florida. There followed concerts in Germany, the USA, Mexico and Spain. Besides numerous radio and TV appearances, she has performed at many festivals of international renown. She has also worked as musical accompanist for readings and radio broadcasts by such artists as Gert Westphal. She obtained her doctorate in language and literature. Jasmin Böttger is piano teacher at the music college of Lübeck. She is particularly interested in contemporary composers and their works. Her favourite periods of the piano repertoire are the romantic and contemporary. Together, they are recognised as one of the most interesting artistic married couples, proving that from two great opposites, a perfect whole can be made. The piano pieces were explained historically and brilliantly played, often interpreted in such a way as though Beethoven and Keith Jarrett had met for a few glasses of wine. Wiesbadener Kurier Stylish crossers of borders with brilliance and great humour. Mitteldeutsche Zeitung A magnificent performance. Höchster Kreisblatt North German Crossover – Jasmin and Gottfried Böttger would have been celebrated in the honky-tonks of New Orleans for their brilliance and wealth of ideas. Hanauer Anzeiger
