Cabaret Evening with Karl Garff

“Damals und Heutzutage”

Karl Garff and Gottfried Böttger throw their talents together: local cabaret gab from Hessen meets northern pianistic temperament.  What results is not beyond the imagination: a cabaret evening of the highest level.  Great musical bolts flash between caricatures of provincial idylls.

Böttger accompanies Garff’s cabaret miniatures; ideas such as “Butter bei die Fische” and “Aale Worscht” interlock and the audience delights in subtle insights into the thoroughly ordinary madness of everyday life.

Karl Garff is known as a front-man of Hessen’s cabaret scene.  His themes lie on the street – he has something to say about everything, as he freely admits.  “Karle” never shies away from turning his provincial views to the world-shaking themes of daily life, rarely however, remaining with the small-talk of the bourgeoisie.  Whether being a danger to the public when tending his lawn, discovering the “Video-Raff-adaptor” to cope with the flood of TV programmes or filling up congresses and conferences as a “professional extra” – sarcasm and petty bourgeois informality go hand in hand.

These two artists complement each other on the stage marvellously – Hessen’s best-known cabaret-artist and high-speed pianist Gottfried Böttger.
Westfalen-Blatt

Gottfried Böttger and Karl Garff fire the enthusiasm with sparkling piano and bone-dry humour, uniting in the most agreeable cabaret and music.
