The `Gottfried Böttger Trio`

„Vom Ragtime zum Swing“
Piano, saxophone and percussion

Embark on an unusual musical trek with the Gottfried-Böttger-Trio from ragtime to swing and look forward to an evening with swing titles such as “Sweet Georgia Brown”, “Basin Street Blues” and “Creole Jazz”.  Alongside many club performances, the trio has had much success at numerous festivals.

Saxophonist Reiner Regel played with many significant bands following his studies in Hamburg.  Studio recordings, radio broadcasts and live performances with the “Knut Kiesewetter Band”,  Udo Lindenberg’s “Panikorchester”, with Bill Ramsey and many others have moulded his musical abilities and have made him one of the most versatile artists on the German music scene.  He is one of the few European saxophonists that possess a truly “black sound”.

David Bowler was born in 1957 in South Portland, Maine.  From 1983, he lived in New York City, working as a drummer.  Following his work there with innumerable local jazz, pop, rock, funk and rhythm & blues bands, he became in 1988 a member of the Ahmad Jamal Trio.  It was with that legendary pianist that Bowler embarked upon a world tour in 1989.  From that and following shared ventures came several CDs: a live recording from the town hall in Manhattan, Pittsburgh and Paris.  Furthermore, he took part in many performances for international TV.

Revelling public – even the chandelier jazzed along.  A tightly packed crowd enjoyed jazz perfection.

Standing ovations (…)  Reiner Regel seemed to merge with his instrument in order to create musical pictures.  He achieved an exciting wealth of nuances, which served all of the senses.
