“Blues meets Boogie and Ragtime”
Piano, guitar, harmonica
Guitarist Abi Wallenstein has for many years moulded the blues and rock scenes in Germany.  Diverse CD and record productions have strengthened his reputation as the father of the Hamburg blues scene.  With his inimitable guitar style, characterised by rhythmic bass runs and simultaneous accordion as well as his “black” voice, he took the public by storm.
Henry Heggen, the “Mr. Natural Blues”, was born in the USA and grew up in England.  There he began at the age of 18 his career with the founding of the group “the One Band”.  During the years that followed, he played together with the best blues musicians of the London scene.  At the age of 20, he was lead singer of the blues band “Have Mercy”.
The three founding fathers of the Hamburg jazz scene Böttger, Wallenstein and Heggen present an exciting, rousing evening with blues, boogie, rock and ragtime.  These outstanding musicians fire the public’s enthusiasm: they have got their public firmly in their grasp, together they “toss the notes to one another” and their pleasure in making musik is perceptible right up to the very last row.

As the three Hamburg musicians began to play a blues version of prince’s song “Kiss”, things really got going under the noble thatched roof.  It was as though the concert-goers had only waited for a signal to jump up.  During the Beatles’ classic “Roll over Beethoven”, two ladies took to the parkett in front of the stage, a fellow 50-year-old jumped ecstatically from one foot to the other in their lee, while the rest bobbed about, clapped or sang enthusiastically along, until they were finally dismissed with “Route 66” to the night around Sylt.
