Singer Cècile Verny, born on the Ivory Coast, has been heard on the stages of Europe since her 17th birthday. Brought up partly in Africa, partly in Europe, her personality, voice and overall varied and adaptable singing style have developed to show a very individual, unique mixture of her African roots, European culture and a fondness for Afro-American music. She is constantly involved in the most diverse formations and styles both on stage and in the studio, and fires the enthusiasm of audiences with her earthy, rousing temperament. She has received highest praise from critics and won diverse international prizes.
Gottfried Böttger is an expert in binding, particularly in gospel music, “black” and “white” elements. A concert, that gets under one’s skin.
Gospels – The place trembled
In fact, one had to be concerned about the steadfastness of the nave – so ecstatically the public clapped, stamped and cheered during classics like “Amen” and “Oh Happy Day”. In the finale, Gottfried Böttger and Cècile Verny got the entire house on its feet.
